We have an in-house workshop that allows us to design and create customized art crates as needed. Each of our crates is built according to the unique characteristics of the artwork. While designing each crate we have in mind aspects such as if it’s a local, domestic or an international shipment, the kind of protection that would suit the artwork best, the materials of which the piece has been made and if the owner or the piece itself has special requirements for its safe handling.

All of our crates are made of certified wood. We comply with international ISPM-15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15) regulations for all solid wood and wood packaging materials that are thicker than 6mm and are part of the international commerce.

All of the packing solutions we offer to our clients are designed first and foremost with providing safety for the artwork. Portan Art only uses the highest quality materials in the market. We use special materials, such as acid free paper or cardboard, that we know won’t harm or damage the art pieces when they come in direct contact with the work of art.

Every member of the art unit has been instructed in art handling matters so they can provide high quality services to each client. While handling the artwork the art team follows a strict protocol in order to ensure the safety of all the art pieces under our care.

Portan Art is an expert in carrying out both import and export processes. Therefore, we have all the knowledge and experience to guide each client through the custom formalities that must be met in order to import or export an artwork. Additionally, we will provide all the assistance needed to undertake different processes such as participating in an art fair, carrying out a temporary export, organizing cultural exchanges, permanent imports and exports of art goods as well as for itinerant exhibitions.

Our trucks are driven by trained drivers who are aware of the risks and damages that an art piece can suffer if they aren't carried with care. Our team understands the value of each artwork that is placed under our care and will follow protocols in order to ensure the piece reaches its destination in a safe manner.

Within our art team, we have professionals in the area of art conservation and restoration. They are ready to help our clients care for their artworks performing repair operations to works that have already been damaged or providing knowledge and strategy as how to prevent harm to decorative arts and furniture.
